Critical Civic Inquiry

Critical Civic Inquiry (CCI) is a partnership among researchers at the University of Colorado and California State University in Long Beach and a cadre of teachers in Colorado [and California?]. The focus of the partnership is on preparing young people for new forms of civic engagement in twenty-first century America.

In the CCI, students from historically marginalized groups reflect on their experiences in schools, identify a shared problem, study it systematically, and develop strategies to address the problem in partnership with adult school personnel.
